More than 250 young dancers took to the stage at the Regional Performance Centre for Active Dundee’s vibrant Urban Moves Summer Showcase.
Across two packed performances in one day, watched by over 580 family members and friends, dancers from the programme’s weekly classes showcased routines inspired by summer themes, celebrating their creativity, confidence and progress.
Led by Active Dundee’s Dance Development Officer alongside a skilled and committed coaching team, each group presented work developed over recent months. Performances reflected the energy and individuality of the programme, with every dancer contributing to a lively and uplifting atmosphere.
Each show featured a different mix of Urban Moves groups, giving participants the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience and share their achievements. Tickets were in high demand, with families keen to support and celebrate the hard work behind each performance.
Feedback from audiences has been overwhelmingly positive, with clear pride from families and visible enjoyment from the performers themselves. For many of the children and young people involved, the experience of performing on stage represents an important milestone in building confidence and expressing themselves creatively.
The Urban Moves programme continues to provide a welcoming and supportive space where young people can develop skills, build friendships and grow in confidence through dance.
Congratulations to all the dancers who performed, and to the coaches, staff and families whose support makes the programme such a success.
