Active Dundee will host its first HYROX Simulation (SIM) at Active 9BX Dundee on Saturday 31 January 2026, giving participants the opportunity to experience the intensity and structure of a HYROX-style race in a supportive, high-energy environment.
Launched in September, Active 9BX Dundee has quickly established itself as a hub for running, lifting and functional fitness, attracting both new and existing members from across the city. Demand has been exceptionally strong, with classes regularly fully booked and a vibrant, motivated training community continuing to grow. The upcoming simulation responds to this interest, offering both experienced racers and newcomers a realistic race-style challenge without the pressure of an official start line.
On the day, Active 9BX will transform into a HYROX-style race floor, utilising the facility’s dedicated indoor and outdoor running tracks (weather permitting). Based within the Athletics Building at Regional Performance Centre Dundee, the venue offers an authentic and varied race-style environment.
The event will feature doubles races from 09:30–11:30 and singles races from 12:00–15:30, with time slots every 10 minutes. Categories include Male, Female and Mixed divisions across Open and Pro levels. While the simulation is not an official HYROX event and will operate on a self-policed basis, coaches will be on hand throughout the day to provide guidance, motivation and support.
Scott Urquhart, Head of Leisure, Sport and Physical Activity Services at Active Dundee said
“Active 9BX has become a real training hub for Dundee and this HYROX Simulation is an exciting opportunity for people to push themselves, try something new and feel part of a thriving fitness community.”
Entry costs are £25 for singles and £40 for doubles, with member discounts available (25% for Active Unlimited members and 10% for all other memberships).
