We are celebrating celebrating a major milestone after welcoming its 10,000th member – the highest membership level in the service's history.

The achievement reflects the growing number of people choosing to be active across Dundee, whether that's working out in the gym, learning to swim, attending fitness classes, playing sport, taking part in children's activities or simply improving their health and wellbeing.

The milestone also highlights the transformation of Active Dundee in recent years. Since the introduction of the Active Dundee brand in 2024 and a refreshed membership offer in 2025, the service has focused on creating a simpler, more accessible and customer-focused experience.

The membership has continued to grow in value through the addition of the McTaggart Centre and Regional Performance Centre (RPC), a dedicated HYROX Training facility, and access to running tracks, the cycle velodrome, and racket sports including badminton and pickleball. Active Dundee has also expanded opportunities for younger people, becoming the city's youngest provider of gym access for 12+ members. Alongside new low-cost family memberships and concessionary options, these developments have helped ensure Active Dundee remains one of the region's most affordable and inclusive leisure memberships.

Reaching 10,000 members is more than just a number. Every membership helps support the continued delivery and development of Active Dundee's services, with income reinvested into facilities, programmes and opportunities that benefit communities across the city.

Linzi Marshall Beers, Membership Manager, said:

"Reaching 10,000 members is something we're incredibly proud of. It's fantastic to see so many people of all ages and abilities choosing Active Dundee to support their health and wellbeing.

This milestone belongs to our members, staff and partners who continue to support what we do. It reflects the journey we've been on to create a membership that offers outstanding value, gives more to the customer, and represents our ambition to help more people become active. Thank you to everyone who has been part of that journey. We're excited to build on this success and help even more people enjoy the benefits of being active."

As Active Dundee continues to grow, its focus remains the same: providing accessible, affordable and high-quality opportunities for everyone to enjoy the benefits of sport, physical activity and wellbeing.

Whether you're taking your first steps towards a healthier lifestyle or have been part of the Active Dundee community for years, there's never been a better time to get involved.
